All of this winter weather makes me think about summer; boardwalk pizza, sandy beaches, and especially, surfing. There is nothing like paddling out past the breakers and sitting on the board reading the waves. You notice the bumps in the water as the ocean rolls in, hear the sounds of the kids playing in the surf and the dreamy way the light reflects off the water. Finally, the perfect wave comes around. You paddle like crazy to get ahead of the wave and build up enough speed for the water to carry you right down the line. Exhilarating!
How does this relate to Vertex Fitness and strength training? The answer can be summed up in one sentence: You have to get ahead of the wave!
We all know what the studio is like this time of year. And we know what the studio will be like in a few short weeks. Also, we know people who, for various reasons, are waiting for next year to get started on an exercise program. Encourage them to get ahead of the wave! They are thinking about starting, tell them not to wait. Offer them are complimentary session on you (dare I say make them an offer they can’t refuse?)! Do whatever you can to get them to get started now.
I know the saying is “good things come to those who wait,” but I also know that the early bird gets the worm!
