Dwayne Wimmer and the staff of Vertex Fitness Personal Training Studio would like to invite you to our 2nd Vertex Fitness PUMPED: People United Making Progress through Education & Donations event and Grand Opening Celebration. This exciting event will be held at our new Lancaster Avenue location on Wednesday, May 16, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The primary goal of Vertex Fitness PUMPED is to provide support to area non-profits through a community-wide outreach effort made up of Vertex staff, its clients, and Friends of Vertex. By making an annual commitment to 3-5 organizations each year, many suggested by Vertex clients, Vertex Fitness PUMPED will not only increase awareness about these hardworking organizations, but also help them realize their fundraising goals so that they may continue providing services to those in need.

As at our previous events, the evening will feature food and drink from nearby restaurants, goods for sale by local businesses, and a chance to win great raffle prizes. Steve Morrison, of WMMR’s 93.3 morning show, “Preston and Steve” will be our special guest. All proceeds from the event will be donated to 2012’s selected charities:

On behalf of the non-profits listed above, we’re asking neighboring businesses for support by becoming an event sponsor, a local business vendor, or by donating a raffle item. Enclosed is a donation form for your consideration. As the event takes time to plan, we are asking for confirmation of your contribution by Friday, May 4th.

We serve low income residents at risk of hunger and malnutrition, of which 23% are children and 16% are senior citizens. We get food directly into the communities though our direct services programs or through our network of agencies. These agencies include food cupboards, neighborhood distributions, shelters, emergency kitchens and various social service agencies. Philabundance provides a reliable source of food to 9 counties in the Delaware Valley.

Finding Shelter Animal Rescue – www.findingshelter.org

Finding Shelter provides the most loving care for the animals who need their help finding a permanent home. It is an organization based on love and respect for animals, supported by an incredible group of volunteers who work together to give these animals a quality life and the best chance for adoption.

Minding Your Mind Foundation – www.mindingyourmind.org

The Minding Your Mind Foundation leads initiatives that reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues among adolescents in middle school, high school and college. Our outreach programs enlighten students, families and educators about the warning signs of mental health issues that are so often masked by adolescent behavior. By promoting open dialogue at school and at home, these programs encourage young adults and families to seek the appropriate help.
