Dwayne Wimmer and the staff of Vertex Fitness Personal Training Studio would like to invite you to our 4th Vertex Fitness PUMPED: People United Making Progress through Education & Donations. This exciting event will be held in the parking lot at our Lancaster Avenue location on Wednesday, May 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The primary goal of Vertex Fitness PUMPED is to provide support to area non-profits through a community-wide outreach effort made up of Vertex staff, its clients, and Friends of Vertex. By making an annual commitment to 3-5 organizations each year, many suggested by Vertex clients, Vertex Fitness PUMPED will not only increase awareness about these hardworking organizations, but also help them realize their fundraising goals so that they may continue providing services to those in need.

As at our previous events, the evening will feature food and drink from nearby restaurants, goods for sale by local businesses, and a chance to win great raffle prizes. Steve Morrison, of WMMR’s 93.3 morning show, “Preston and Steve” will be our special guest. All net proceeds from the event will be donated to our 2014’s selected charities:

The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation provides financial aid to families who are in need, due to recent adversity or tragedy. Whether it be the sudden death or illness of a parent, the long term illness of a child, or the loss of a home or property due to fire, flood or disaster, we strive to help families bridge the gap until they can seek long term stability to lessen the financial burdens due to these, or other, life altering disasters.

MusicWorks is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) music therapy service provider. We facilitate small group music therapy sessions for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays and other genetic abnormalities. Our Board Certified Music Therapists work on learning and communication, focus and attention, fine and gross motor skills and socialization through the use of music. Our small groups begin at the age of 1 and go up to young adults at the age of 40. MusicWorks recently opened a music therapy treatment center in Havertown, PA. Located one block from the Blue Route at 2050 West Chester Pike, our new site is convenient for families from Delaware and Montgomery Counties

Philadoptables is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that provides support for adoption, welfare, and outreach programs that benefit the 30,000+ animals received each year by the Philadelphia Animal Control Shelter, the Delaware Valley Region’s largest open-door municipal animal shelter. By working with volunteers, animal welfare groups, organizations outside the animal network, and communities throughout the Delaware Valley Region, our goal is to save lives and to build a better community – for people and animals alike – by:
Increasing the number of animals saved through adoptions, foster homes, and rescue partners at Philadelphia’s animal control shelter;
Improving conditions at the shelter by supporting essential services not funded by the City’s animal control budget; Educating the public and generating community involvement about the shelter and the animals in its care.
