Dwayne Wimmer is excited and honored to be a finalist for the Association of Fitness Studio’s Fitness Business of the Year Award, to be presented at the SUCCEED! AFS Business Convention and Expo April 12-14th, 2019. The winner will be announced on Sunday, at 12:30 before the final Keynote presentation, “The Best Team Wins” by Co-Founder and CEO of Hireology, Adam Robinson.
The Association of Fitness Studios (AFS) is recognized as one of the premiere professional associations for fitness studios around the country, providing valuable resources to studio owners and fitness industry professionals. AFS was founded to be a community that connects influencers, studio owners, and health and fitness experts to transform the fitness industry. The AFS maintains partnerships with over 70 fitness organizations and top brands, including every major certifying organization in the fitness industry.
The founder and CEO, Josh Leve, has spent over 15 years in the fitness industry managing large scale health clubs while providing consultative services for the boutique studio market. Josh comes from a family of fitness industry leaders, whose grandfather Mort (a member of the Handball Hall of Fame) was founder of the National Court Clubs Association (NCCA). His father, Chuck Leve (a member of the Racquetball Hall of Fame) and 40-year industry veteran, was executive director of the US Racquetball Association and a founding employee of IHRSA.
The Fitness Business of the Year Award will be presented on Sunday during the AFS SUCCEED! conference. SUCCEED is an annual conference for fitness coaches and business owners that allows the top fitness minds to share new ideas and learn about the latest equipment. Featured speakers this year are Adam Robinson, Todd Durkin (two-time Personal Trainer of the Year and Founder of Fitness Quest 10), and Augie and Lynne Nieto (founders of Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS). The 2019 SUCCEED! Conference takes place in Irvine California and will feature educational workshops, over 50 breakout sessions for niche topics, and inspirational keynotes.
The AFS Fitness Business of the Year Award is given to a studio or gym that excels in all areas of business, and whose owner has demonstrated the ability to create unsurpassed customer experiences, dedicated staff, motivated clients and leadership in their community. Dwayne Wimmer and Vertex Fitness are honored to be counted among the other finalists in consideration for this award.
Also to be announced on Sunday is the Influencer of the Year Award, given to an individual who has significantly contributed to the health and well-being of society through various communication vehicles to enhance the value of fitness in a manner that stimulates and motivates participation.
During the Resistance Exercise Conference, March 22 & 23, 2019, Dwayne Wimmer was also honored with the Grit Award for perseverance and contributions to the field of resistance exercise. It is an honor and a privilege to be recognized among so many other experts and leaders of the fitness industry, and we’d like to thank both AFS and the Resistance Exercise Conference.
